Bug#37298: problems with cfdisk and fdisk
Package: boot-floppies
Version: 2.1.9
Hi all. I am still having trouble partitoning my hard disks.
My ROM BIOS was copyrighted by American Megatrends, Inc. in 1990.
I do not see any configuration setting in the BIOS that refers to a
boot-sector write protect switch or a virus protection setting. I don't
think this is my problem unless there is some kind of jumper or switch on
my hardware that is keeping the disk from actually being partitioned.
The BIOS recognizes the hardware. The rescue floppy recognizes the
hardware. dbootstrap, cfdisk, and fdisk recognize the hardware, but not
the partitions that they supposedly create!
I'm not giving up though. I'm am going to download the rescue floppy
once againg to see if something is wrong with the one I am using.
Any help would be appreciated.
