Bug#31367: Great .... managed to get 2.1.4 work on Thinkpad 770

I have grafted the SuSE 5.3 bzImage kernel file, overwriting the Linux
file present on 2.1.4 rescue floppy and I managed to install flawlessly
Debian potato !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I therefore am quite shure that it must be a kernel compilation problem
...
