Do you mean that the dependencies of one package can be different among 
different architectures? (Apparently yes, according to the Packages file.) 
This is a real problem...

Yes, I've checked. I give in. I break my computer and I go to a desert island 
in the Pacific.

OK, the best workaround is probably to use the new slice mechanism:

libstdc++2.8: Tasks: C, Gui_devel, Sgml, Standard, Tex, Web, X_comp, [M68K: 
Basic :M68K] ...

Patch master for the other problems and send me the result (or commit yourself 
with a proper log message).

I think that the proper solution would be to rebuild these packages... Otherwise, calling all the versions of slink by the same name would be a liar, if they don't have the same dependencies on several platforms.
