Subject: lmemroot.bin doesn't work
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

file: lmemroot.bin

When I try to install Debian on i386 with low mem (4 MB) i use floppy0
as a boot argument and use lmemroot disk (gained using rawrite2.exe from
file lmemroot.bin) after kernel message:

VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER

After putting the floppy and pressing the enter I got something like
this:

[MS-DOS FS Rel. 12,FAT 0,check=n,conv=b,uid=0,gid=0,umask=022,bmap]
[me=0x0,cs=0,#f=0,fs=0,fl=0,ds=0,de=0,data=0,se=o,ts=0,ls=0]
Transaction block size = 512

and finally:

Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:00

I also tried under the linux:

dd if=lmemroot.bin of=/dev/fd0 bs=512

I get then correct message (I guess) that disk is under minix
filesystem, then
lotsa disk errors (damaged surface), but the disk is okay (I've double
checked
it)

please contact me if some further information is needed.
