umm, himem.sys, vpmouse.sys and the normal dos stuff (msdos.sys et al).
nothing odd.

but that's not really relevant.  loadlin.exe just toasts whatever is in
memory and exec's vmlinuz.  it's functionally the same as booting off a
disk.

besides, i don't see any way that dos could leave something around that
would cause star to not want to overwrite a file that is in use. =)
