Package: apache
Version: 1.3.27.1-2
Severity: important

This problem appeared with the most recent upgrade. I think I skipped
1.3.27.1-1. When I do:
  # /etc/init.d/apache start
  Starting web server: apache.

But then ps shows no apache/httpd/etc. process. And when I do
  # /etc/init.d/apache stop
Stopping web server: apacheNo /usr/sbin/apache found running; none killed.
  .

Looking in the log shows only messages like:
[Wed Aug 20 11:44:15 2003] [warn] pid file /var/run/apache.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run?

Also, probably unrelated, but when upgrading the script failed because apache
was running. Stopping apache and then re-trying the upgrade worked.
