Bug#216468: apache: Correction to modules.conf apparently incomplete.

Package: apache
Version: 1.3.28-4
Severity: normal

I updated today, but still had the problems described in bug #216242,
even though /etc/apache/modules.conf had the lines

LoadModule dir_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/mod_dir.so
LoadModule autoindex_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/mod_autoindex.so

in the correct order. Running "/usr/sbin/modules-config apache" as
described in that file and restarting apache fixed the problem.
Unless my install is uniquely misconfigured, it seems likely that
apache's upgrade scripts are not running this command in every case.

Hope this helps.
Alex.
