Is it here that needs modification in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

# Authentication:
LoginGraceTime 600
PermitRootLogin no
StrictModes yes
I do have
UsePAM yes

RSAAuthentication yes
PubkeyAuthentication yes
#AuthorizedKeysFile     %h/.ssh/authorized_keys
