problem with emu-tools on Debian/AMD64
Hello list,
Thanks to all who helped last month with me getting the Debian/AMD64
distro installed. There are definitely bumps here and there but for the
most part things are going well!
One problem I can't seam to solve relates to emu-tools. I am not quite
sure if my problem has to do with the AMD64 platform, the emu-tools
package or the emu10k1 OSS 2.6.10 kernel driver.
I have a Sound Blaster Live card which functioned perfectly under my old
Slackware32 system running a 2.6.9 kernel, the kernel/OSS emu10k1 module,
and emu-tools.
Since the Debian/AMD64 distrobution doesn't (yet) have a emu-tools
package, I had to search for an alternative. I found:
emu10k1-tools-0.9.4-3mdk.amd64.rpm (mandrake amd64) and I successfully
converted it to a .deb with alien.
Once installed, the emu-config utility appears to execute properly, but
when I execute emu-dspmgr (the main routing utility) I get a "segmentation
fault."
If anyone has experienced this and knows how I might be able to fix it
please share.
Any insight much appreciated and welcome...
Thanks in advance,
Monty
