Kaffe is available and was working. Though on the latest upload a
cascade of bugs got triggered started by a change in gcc which made
kaffe non-functional.

Yesterday a new gcc, suposedly with a fix (haven't checked yet), was
uploaded and a new kaffe should follow tonight making it fully (as
fully as it is anyway) again.

Kaffe is still incompleted compared to the non-free jdk but its
getting there. There is an url detailing the progress but you have to
goole for it.

As for the Backdown Java for amd64 several people reported them
working fine.
