MS seem to be hanging on to their x86-64 Windows (they one they just put
in public beta is the same one that's been on the MSDN download site
since about November).  I suspect it's going to be timed for Intel
unveiling their x86-64 capabilitity.

If that happens then 64bit support will be the dominant mainstream a lot
faster than previous predictions - I reckon easily within 12 months (for
example at work we're waiting for Dell to ship 64bit dual proc. servers
running Win64 so we can upgrade the database servers... the money's
there to be spent, and I suspect that's not uncommon).
