Please _do_ read the FAQ. Section 'Hardware requirements', look for the keyword
'MMU'.
Linux will only run on 68020+68851 or higher.
There is a port of uCLinux to the 1040, but that's a different story. I'm
pretty sure uCLinux needs a custom tailored libc and probably needs recompiling
