dvd+rw-tools update [5.15.4.8.5, FreeBSD 5-current, DVD+R speed, Optorite]
dvd+rw-tools 5.15.4.8.5 are available for download at usual location,
http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/. Most notably this update
includes workaround for kernel bug present in FreeBSD 5-CURRENT since
2003-08-24, including 5.2, further details are available at
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/2003-December/007424.html.
Secondly this update allows you to control even DVD+ recording velocity
on units which support it. For the moment of this writing this is tested
with Plextor PX-708A only (thanks to Peter Osterlund). This update
partially addresses issues discussed in "Dual format DVD burner drive
problem" thread earlier this month. "Partially addresses" doesn't mean
that the "rest of the problem" will be resovled at some later time,
because the latter can only be addressed by user, see
