Bug#730131: phonon-backend-vlc: Changing volume in KDE applications broken
Package: phonon-backend-vlc
Version: 0.7.0-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
since I upgraded to Phonon 4.7 and Phonon-VLC 0.7, changing playback volume in Amarok
is broken.
rdieter on IRC pointed out that this is probably https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327279,
and indeed as stated there, re-compiling this package unmodified against current
unstable (to ensure it is built against libphonon) fixes volume changes in Amarok.
It'd be great if someone could trigger a re-build, or re-upload, of the VLC backend.
It may also be a good idea to cherry-pick
https://projects.kde.org/projects/kdesupport/phonon/phonon/repository/revisions/f278a93493ac04ce04d48e8e5b5158caa0621ce3
so that other backends still using the "old" style of environment (whatever that
may be) continue to work. I did not try though whether that patch alone helps.
Kind regards
Ralf
