Yeah it's not ideal, but I don't know of a better succinct term in English for that 'enter a function' style calculator. I took it from galculator which can have a UI of 'basic mode', 'scientific mode', or 'paper mode'. The first two simulate a physical caclulator with buttons, the 3rd is an entry-box like the XFCE-calculator plugin. But I agree it's not a widely-understood term. Your description below is good. I'll just make a couple of native-speaker style/grammar adjustments. > "This plugin places a resizable text entry box, where you can enter > mathematical operations to calculate, on the Xfce panel. This plugin places a resizable text entry box, in which you can enter mathematical operations to calculate, on the Xfce panel. Common operators (+, -, *, /, ^) with the usual precedence rules and a number of functions, including but not limited to abs(x), sqrt(x), sin(x) and cos(x), are supported. An adjustable number of recent operations are saved in history and can be accessed in a drop-down list." Wookey -- Principal hats: Debian, Wookware, ARM http://wookware.org/
