Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

We, the pkg-utopia team, intend to orphan the pm-utils package.

The package description is:
This package provides simple shell command line tools to suspend and
 hibernate your computer.

Upstream of pm-utils is dead since years and the quirks applied by
pm-utils aren't really needed anymore nowadays. I suspect some of the
are actually harmful these days.

Also, with the switch to systemd/logind, pm-utils is no longer used by
default for suspend/resume which means we are not actively using
pm-utils either anymore.

I've CCed the reverse dependencies of pm-utils, i.e. packages which
declare a Depends, Recommends or Suggests.
We hope that one of them is either picking up pm-utils or update their
packages to no longer use pm-utils.
If nobody is going to pick up pm-utils, we plan to request its removal
in a few months in which case I'll file appropriate bug reports against
the reverse dependencies.

Regards,
Michael
