I intend to orphan the pidgin-twitter package. I no longer use this package.
Some of supported services have been terminated (Wassr and friendfeed),
or changed their protocols (Twitter and identi.ca),
but the upstream no update for the past 4 years.

If there is anyone who would like to take over its maintenance,
feel free to claim it.

The package description is:
A Pidgin plugin for a microblogging services such as Twitter.
It allows you to post and read micro blogs on pidgin.
It provides many useful features. For example,
 .
   - display user icon
   - translate sender's name to a link to her/his webpage
   - play sounds for specified users
   - count posting letters
   - filter messages from specified users
 .
It supports Twitter, Wassr, identi.ca, jisko and friendfeed.
