I think he speaks about the files generated by /usr/bin/updmap, which
should not be touched by hand. So they are not conffiles. In theory
we could speak about an FHS-violation, cause generated files should
not go into /etc (correct me if I'm wrong).
So the idea seems to be to call updmap with --outputdir
/var/lib/texmf/web2c and add that directory to the texmf-Tree. The
appropriate lines are commented out in /etc/texmf/texmf.d/05....cnf.
I was thinking about submitting a patch for that, but hadn't the time
for it until now.
