Bug#140460: tetex-extra: it won't install, config fails - additional info from cont-en.log
I have the same problem. I found however, that the file cont-en.log contained
the error logging shown below. Apparently the maximum number of string
characters is exceeded. I have installed tetex-extra because of a dependency
on another program, so I have not changed the default installation.
The problem I have with this is that - as I didn't purposely installed this
package - I don't know how to increase this string limit. I assume it is done
by editing a config file, but which one I don't know. ( I need a wizard's
help, see below ;-))
This error also ends the whole installation process, as the installation
script itself returns error exit status 100. The machine itself is a test
machine, which I currently use to try to install the latest KDE3.1 release
candidate, and these packages are now also not installed.

you can ask a wizard to enlarge me.
