Re: Bug#79213: no texmf.cnf file: cannot install tetex on up-to-date woody

Hi Christoph,

I did try to reinstall tetex-bin... but this did not work. i completely removed tetex-base, tetex-bin tetex-lib and tetex-extra from my system and reinstalled them.

My disk is not full. If i only unpack tetex-bin (dpkg --unpack tetex-bin_1.0.7+200000807-5_i386.deb) i get the texmf.cnf.dpkg-new files, but after configuring they are gone. Here's a piece of output.

equalizer:/var/cache/apt/archives# dpkg --unpack tetex-bin_1.0.7+20000807-5_i386

I am a long time Debian GNU user and really can't figure this out. I've looked in /var/lib/dpkg/info/tetex-bin.preinst and .postinst and /usr/bin/texconfig but didn't really understand these scripts.

You can always ask me more question, i hope you can help me out,

greets,
Sander
