By the way, maybe you have tested the reverse dependencies?

<blush/> ehm, how am I supposed to do that? Is there a simple way to test this? I guess I should know the answer, but I don't.

Three ways:

1) Use ratt[1]
2) Use ruby-team/meta script
3) Upload to experimental and check for britney's pseudo-excuses

The third way might not be very reliable, since that will test only reverse-dependencies, and not reverse-build-dependencies.
Since the reverse(+build)-deps does not seem very high for this package (pasted at the end of this email)
maybe you could go wtih 1) or 2)

[2]: https://salsa.debian.org/ruby-team/meta
[3]: https://release.debian.org/britney/pseudo-excuses-experimental.html

Nilesh
