Bug#996833: Please include information whether system is usrmerged or not

Yes, I think this existing indicator is already reliable in practice.

(I've grepped through a few thousand random bug reports to see what
other shells besides bash and dash would turn up as link targets for
/bin/sh, and only found a handful instances of /bin/lksh and /bin/pdksh.
Not a problem with regard to detecting merged-/usr.)

Guillem, is this 'good enough' for you? Or does anyone still think there
is value in adding an explicit note about merged-/usr status even if the
actual information is already present?
