I was expecting kcrash to catch a kmail crash and show a window with the backtrace information, if that's not the case, then running kmail under gdb should give something similar:
$ gdb kmail [ ... ] (gdb) r [ ... Wait for the crash ... ] (gdb) thread apply all backtraceThis is better explained in: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
