yeah, a good thing to do would be to install Debian as a second operating
system partitioning the disk to hold both windows and Debian so that
you get used to the new environment... My girlfriend uses Debian at her
home for reading/sending mail, internet and office works but I installed
it for her, it is not trivial to install Debian and it won't be for some
time... but if you get it installed and running you won't want to go back
to windows (my girlfriend keeps telling me so =))
