The nice thing to see would be a grub2 test but even lilo will get the
process moving along.

As you may have seen on the mailing list, the issue with GRUB on PowerPC
Macs has not been resolved yet and is being worked on, so we're currently
not building new images.

I have been quietly following along.

You should be able to use the old images though:

https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/ports/

I will give that a try right away. What lines should one have in the
/etc/apt/sources.list to make life somewhat easy ?   I have had some
difficulties with local university mirror sites mostly because the
architecture simply doesn't exist there.  I can only imagine that a
RISC-V system will be far more obscure .. for now anyways.
