I use ocaml and emacs21 and every thing work fine here. (I've just try
to recompile everything).

cannot load compile ? compile is a part of emacs21. This seem to be an
emacs21 related problem more than an ocaml one.

What you computer tell you when you do the following ?

locate compile.el | grep 21

emacs --batch --eval "(require 'compile)"
