Another thought (about what a new member would become at the end of the
process):

So a DD or a “non-uploading DD” would be a “Debian Member” (DM), right?
The initialism sounds a bit confusing with the “Debian Maintainer” one.
Even if “Debian Project Member” (DPM) was used, I'm afraid that the
confusion would still exists, since a “Debian Maintainer” is in fact a
“Debian Project Maintainer” (DPM). On the other hand, maybe it's not
that important: any Debian Maintainer may soon became a Debian Member.

I can think of some documents on the /devel/ part of the website, and
the Developer's Reference, that should not take months to update them
(and their translations).
