I can't quite reproduce it, so I hope you can help me with some extra

Could you please produce a test document and leave it right before the
rotation?
Even best if you could do a short screencast to show what you exactly
do.

Given that you are running testing, could you also test out the package
currently in experimental?  (Which is not going to be marked as stable
that quickly, and most likely I'll fix this crash in a stable update if
possible, but just to check if that's already fixed in next releases).
