well it's not better, but i've probably found the reason (which is
probably that i'm stupid ...) : the whole boot process works perfectly
with this image (and only this one):

(i've got a kernel panic because of a root= pb but that's not the
problem right now ...), but this image has been made for R10000 which
probably meens that i have an R10000 and it seems that the method
described here :
http://www.cyrius.com/debian/o2/
only works with R5000 R5200 and R7000.

In fact I've just checked and I HAVE a R10000 (i should have started
with this ...)

Is there an existing image to install debian with this method on
R10000 ? (R10000 seem not to be well supported ...)
