Re: Indy boot problem

Hello,,

the problem disappeared after formating the root fliesystem with ext2.
I guess before the installation of the base system failed at any point.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm trying to install debian woody on an Indy (2GB disk, SGI 24Bit graphics, 96MB RAM).

With the old "boot-floppies" installer? (which kernel version?)

[snip]

Also by examinig the root filesystem on the Indy's disk (using the shell of the installation program) I couln't find any /dev file and there is no /sbin/init.

Erm. What _was_ on this partition then?

What is going wrong ?
Where can I get the missing files from and how can I pass parameters to the kernel on the Indy ?

By typing them in the firmware shell. But this shouldn't be necessary,
and it won't help in this case.
