Re: Live Boot Error "Boot Failed"

Please understand that after three emails from you I am still at a complete loss as to sufficiently understanding your situation and thus unable to offer any helpful advice to you. You are unlikely to get anywhere at all with resolving your problem unless you can communicate the necessary information.

For starters:
- so you have this laptop, and then you decided to do what...? try to use a live-disc? try to install linux? try to fix an existing installation of linux you've had for a long time?
- what disc were you using that led to the problem? a Debian install disc? a Debian live disc? a linux mint disc of some kind?

What led you to submitting an email to this mailing list? Why did you think this was the correct place to get help with the problem you experienced? Did a particular error tell you to go to this mailing list, or did you just google "live boot" and end up here since we have a tool called live-boot? I am very confused here since you're referring to linux mint and rescatux. Please understand that this is the mailing list for the "Debian live project"; it has nothing to do with linux mint or rescatus specifically.

If all that has happened is that you've just tried installing linux mint on your system and it's not worked, then this is not the right place to ask for help. This is the Debian project not the linux mint project, and more specifically this is for discussing all things relating to tooling for Debian live discs, not for linux installation problems.

also, please try to ensure that the mailing list email address is included in the list of addresses you respond to (try clicking 'reply to all' rather than simply 'reply) so that everyone on the mailing list can view and participate in the discussion.

I used rescatux to try to repair grub.

It failed.

Any suggestions?

Again, please be more clear. How does installing linux and linuxmint relate to Debian and the Debian live tools?

I installed Linux on partition.

Bootloader cannot find that partition. Get the error listed.

Ran rescatux and got the other error.

?? your request for help is not very clear... Do you mean that you have constructed a Debian live disk using live-build and you are trying to run this on a laptop that has a Linux Mint host installed? (which is irrelevant btw).

if so then what was the config used to build the live-disc with live-build?
