I still have this error and I couldn't generate .img which I use
live-helper from svn
for a change I download file from project site
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/release/4.0_r0-rc1/i386/usb-hdd/debian-live-40r0-rc1-i386-gnome-USB.img
next I run dd if=name.img of=/dev/sda <--- this is a my pendrive, when I
boot debian live from usb I see error
Could not find image kernel: /vmlinuz , ok I write vmlinuz and press
enter system run but I have next error
VFS cannot open root device "NULL" Please append and correct "root="
option
Kernel panic - Unable to mount root fs
