Yesterday's debian-live-etch-i386-gnome-desktop.iso hangs on NEC Versa P8100 laptop.

i'm using my non-stripped builds from
http://daniel.debian.net/packages-other/qemu/ in order to use kqemu
(debians stripped ones do not work with kqemu) and it does perfectly work.
nevertheless, i've rerun it with the stripped qemu 0.9.0-2 from debian
on sid/i386, and right, it does fail there, which is extremely strange.
