Sorry, I should have said this was occurring with 2.11.0+dfsg-1, which
is in the FreeType Salsa repository.

after checking some r-build-deps.

I'll look into enabling Salsa CI for the repo. If you want to look
sooner and you're building from the git directory, you'll need to
adjust d/p/autogen-no-git.patch.

Line 18 should be "+if ! test -d ".git"; then" (note the exclamation
mark/not syntax). Otherwise, sbuild will work without any patching
required.
