Package: lintian Version: 1.23.25 Severity: minor When working on packaging for cyrus-sasl2, I noticed that lintian incorrectly complains about an incorrect man page section. To reproduce this bug, grab rev 33 from svn://svn.debian.org/pkg-cyrus-sasl2 Build it and then run lintian -viI on the .changes file and you will see the complaint from lintian about the sasl_getconfpath_t man page. N: Processing binary package libsasl2-2-dev (version 2.1.22-1) ... W: libsasl2-2-dev: manpage-section-mismatch usr/share/man/man3/sasl_getconfpath_t.3.gz:41 3 != 12 February 2006 N: N: A man page usually should contain a .TH header, specifying the N: section. The section in this manpage doesn't match with the section in N: the filename. Please consult groff_man(7) for more information about N: .TH syntax (amongst others). N: The interesting thing is that I checked half a dozen of the other man pages and they all had the .TH line with the exact same format as the page which triggered the warning. However, lintian does not warn on any of the others. Version: 1.23.25 I made a mistake. The package actually had a patch that patched all but one of the man pages. Regards, -Roberto -- Roberto C. Sanchez http://people.connexer.com/~roberto http://www.connexer.comAttachment: signature.asc
