Or you can take Kenshis upgraded di-images with newer kernels, which can
be found at

http://kmuto.jp/debian/d-i/

and are part of http://wiki.debian.org/EtchAndAHalf which aim is to add
newer packages (kernel/X drivers) within the stable 'etch' release to
increase its usefulness to users with hardware that requires updated
drivers.
