Sorry, no fixes from me - I've been trying to solve this problem for two years
now! I seem to remember it happening even when using a generic mouse driver
for the touchpad, which suggests it is not specific to the synaptics driver.
What type of laptop do you have? Mine is a "whitebox" (no-name) Centrino,
which makes it hard to track down any hardware-related problems. At least if
I know which laptops have identical problems, I'd have somewhere to start.
