During the last 10 years, i had 3 dead ibm scsi disks (maybe it was the
machine's fault) and one samsung sata which died after 3 weeks.
for laptops, i meanwhile go for fujitsu hd's, they have proven to be
very silent and reliable to me. they are available in two different
flavours: the silent ones and the faster ones.
