the pcmcia modules will be included with the debian distribution of the
kernel.  so you will install kernel 2.4.1 (or whatever) and that will come
with pcmcia support.  then you just need to install pcmcia-cs in order to be
able to utilize those modules (similar to the way nfs support comes with the
kernel but it's not much use without the nfs utilities and daemons.)
