Dear Maintainer,

Kernel 4.8.0.0 crashed with "BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer
dereference". See the trace below. I strongly believe this is the same
bug that was reported in the Kernel bugtracker [1]. It was supposedly
fixed in commit 79dc7e3f1cd323be4c81aa1a94faa1b3ed987fb2 [2].

I think you're right.  Assuming that is the case, this is already fixed
in unstable and will soon be fixed in jessie-backports.
