Bug#463751: There was the same problem on LFS LiveCD

A user of LFS LiveCD reported a similar problem in the past. We were able to 
solve this by adding the following lines to /etc/modprobe.conf:

options iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1
options iwl4965 disable_hw_scan=1
