It is not the best solution I guess, but it worked for me. My guess it that there is a distributor provided upgrade tool which does something similar, but for whatever reason failed to run when you started KDE4 first. For a real upgrade - as in "don't need KDE3 configs anymore" - it should be possible to symlink the two directories. Cheers, Kevin
