Tried 3 different cables.

Haven't tried that one. But then again... i've tried a few different
network cards, so it shouldn't be that.

Not running 2.4.x... running the old n trusty 2.2.17 kernel

Yeap... i also compiled the code into the kernel, not as a module.

Well, its all a process of elimination, isn't it :-)
Unfortunately, problem has still not been solved :-/
