If these are supposed to be FQDN then you either need to write out the whole
name (ns.golgotha.net.) or use $ORIGIN to let bind know what domain these
host names go with. It's always wise to write out FQDN's and not use
"reletive" names, unless the network is totally private.

AFAIK all bind's use seconds. The HOW-TO was probably just abbreviating.
