Description : Hassle-free Authentication and Security Layer client library

Hasl is SASL client library that is designed to be easy to use and integrate
well with GLib based applications.

This package was developed for the still in development Pidgin 3, but due to
a licensing conflict in Pidgin 2 with Cyrus-SASL #1036113 we decided to pull
this library in early so that we can port Pidgin 2 to it to correct the license
conflict.

This library is different than both Cyrus-SASL and GNU SASL in a number of
ways. Most importantly it is only focused on client implementations. It tries
to make it very easy for developers to use by keeping track of which SASL
mechanism have been attempted and removing them from the list and other
niceties like that.

I had a sponsor many years ago (Mathieu Malaterre) when I did the ITP for
ninja-build #683333. But for this package I've been working with Richard
Laager who is the current Debian maintainer for all things related to Pidgin.

Also I have the packaging already built and it is Lintian clean.
