The best way is, as Branden says, that you'd better release debwrap
in your own apt line instead of merging into Debian, because it can
only slow down debconf adoption. This way is a better solution in both side.

I can't understand why you guys don't hack debconf to be
completely implemented and instead do waste a time to make
ugly programs. You have a freedom to hack debconf or any packages
to be more non-interactiveness. It is happier for all of us to do
such NMUs than to make the ugly. I think what you're doing
is not useful for Debian. Please improve my packages :)
