dpkg only knows to remove last if it becomes completely empty. Perhaps
the solution is to add a command to dpkg so that one package can erase
files from another package? That way sysvinit could erase
/usr/doc/copyright/last, making last empty, which dpkg would then
purge, as detailed in dpkg-disappear-replace.txt.
That would seem to work well, Ian? I can provide you with several
other examples of how this option would be used. One other concern:
I assume that dpkg realize the other entries in a packages filelist
are directories, not files. So it will purge the package when all
files are removed. Is that correct?

ok. Anyway I can't upload using my own account on master. How was
Simon communicating the new password to you? I see the upload account
still works; should I use that?
