Re: clanbomber and clanlib

clanbomber2 is more maintained and is a port of clanbomber using directfb. However, there is the rub. It doesn't "just work" because of directfb.

I tried cb2 ages ago, but I didn't get it to work at all because of
this clanlib->directfb switch, neither under X nor under the VTs. (I
only tried it on amd64, though).

Maybe the situation changed in the meantime, so good luck!

FYI, I attach a patch that I needed back then to build cb 2.09 in the
first place. Maybe it's still helpful for someone.

If everything else fails and clanlib0.6 maintenance is a pain, then
maybe it's time to remove clanbomber from the archive?

/me (still a lurking Fedora dev) wonders if clanlib0.6 maintenance indeed is such a pain? I've checked the changelog's of both the debian and the Fedora package's and there doesn't seem to be a lot of churn there.

Notice by the way, that the Fedora version is using lua-0.5 (Debian 0.4) and the latest mikmod beta (which comes with some nice features and bugfixes), so it is quite possible to maintain ClanLib-0.6 without having to keep older versions of other stuff around.

Hans
