New Debian powerpc Packages
These powerpc packages were installed into the Debian hierarchy in the
last week:
----- !!! HIGH URGENCY PACKAGES !!! -----
lpr - BSD lpr/lpd line printer spooling system
lpr 5.9-33 -> 5.9-34 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/net
lpr (5.9-34) frozen unstable; urgency=high
* security fix: lpd no longer segfaults on requests from hosts with long
names. (part of Bug#29872)
samba - A LanManager like fileserver and simple client for Unix.
smbfsx - Mount and umount commands for the smbfs and kernels > 2.1.70.
samba 1.9.18p10-5 -> 1.9.18p10-6 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/net
smbfsx 1.9.18p10-5 -> 1.9.18p10-6 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/otherosfs
samba (1.9.18p10-6) frozen unstable; urgency=high
* Back-ported from Samba-2.0.0beta2 the security fix that prevents
shell meta-characters to be passed through the "message command"
parameter (an exploit that was posted to debian-private).
* Deleted incomplete comment in sample smb.conf (fixes #29218: Typo
in /etc/smb.conf).
----- MEDIUM Urgency Packages -----------
epic4 - EPIC irc client, version 4
epic4 pre2-5 -> pre2-7 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/net
epic4 (pre2-7) frozen unstable; urgency=medium
* Unless you're running my script (which you aren't) my color patch really
breaks pre2. So much for backported patches. The portion which added
set noblink_16_background has been removed from pre2, though the ^c16
part of the patch is still there. It'll be in pre2.002 or 2.001NR9
upstream.
* Fixed Debian menu entry while I was at it.
junkbuster - The Internet Junkbuster!
junkbuster 2.0-3.2 -> 2.0-4 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/web
junkbuster (2.0-4) unstable frozen; urgency=medium
* Activated regexp matching (fixes #29732).
* Merged new version of Stfan Waldherr's blank patch (blanks only gif
and jpeg images, so this solves trouble with javascript etc.).
* Added config file option tinygif to select between "broken image", 1x1
blank GIF and "JUNKBUSTER" GIF. This gives the user the chance to
disable the blank patch, which otherwise should be seen as a bug.
* Changed behavior of force-reload and restart in /etc/init.d/junkbuster
to really restart junkbuster (fixes #29356).
* Changed "Recommends: www-browser" to "Suggests: www-browser", because
junkbuster can work on a server with the browser on another machine.
* .. all this and more from patches by Roland Rosenfeld. Thanks..
tetex-base - basic teTeX library files
tetex-doc - teTeX documentation
tetex-extra - extra teTeX library files

tetex-nonfree 0.9.981030-1 -> 0.9.981030-2 into dists/potato/non-free/binary-all/tex
tetex-base (0.9.981030-2) frozen unstable; urgency=medium
* corrected wrong source format. .orig.tar.gz and .diff were missing.
----- Low Urgency Packages --------------
aalib-bin - sample programs using aalib
aalib1 - ascii art library
aalib1-dev - ascii art library, development kit
aalib-bin 1.2-7 -> 1.2-8 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/libs
aalib1-dev 1.2-7 -> 1.2-8 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/libs
aalib1 1.2-7 -> 1.2-8 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/libs
aalib (1.2-8) frozen unstable; urgency=low
* Fixed aacurses.c so it will actually build.
* Fixed configure.in so slang can actually be disabled (typo).
* Built with the curses driver instead of the slang one to work around
whatever's making the slang driver badly fail. This fixes all apps that
use aalib for display output, and it belongs in the frozen tree. (#27695)
alien - Install Red Hat, Stampede, and Slackware Packages with dpkg.
alien 6.24 -> 6.25 into dists/potato/main/binary-all/admin
alien (6.25) unstable; urgency=low
* Alien can now be installed into eg, /usr/local via a PREFIX variaible
in the Makefile, based on work by Roman Shterenzon <roman@xpert.com>.
* Typo fix from Roman Shterenzon.
* Moved the patch files that come with alien out of /var/lib/alien
into /usr/lib/alien/patches. Alien will now check both directories for
patches, /var first.

analog - Analyzes logfiles from www servers
analog 3.1-1 -> 3.11-1 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/web
analog (3.11-1) unstable; urgency=low
* New upstream release. It turns out a security hole in the form interface
has been fixed since version 3.1, so I have enabled the form interface.
This fixes bug #27112.
apache - Versatile, high-performance HTTP server
apache-common - Support files for all Apache webservers
apache-common 1.3.3-3 -> 1.3.3-4 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/web

apache (1.3.3-4) frozen unstable; urgency=low
* Linked with libc6 2.0.7u-6.
* Stripped debugging symbols from loadable modules in apache-common.
* Included patch to cron.daily from Jason Gunthorpe so it also rotates
logfiles in configuration files added by the "Include" directive
(#29830), fixing #28566.

bsdmainutils 4.3.3 -> 4.4 into dists/potato/main/binary-powerpc/utils
bsdmainutils (4.4) frozen unstable; urgency=low
* New maintainer.
* Release to frozen: there are no real code changes in this release,
so it should be safe to install in slink.
* cal.1: document arguments correctly: "[[month] year]", not
"[month [year]]". Fixes Bug#27240.
* Include calendar files updated for 1999. (The files for 1998 are
still included, of course.)
* Move non-year-dependent calendar files out of year-specific
directories, moving them up a level to /usr/lib/calendar.
* New calendar file: calendar.hindu. Add an empty calendars.hindu for
1998, so that inclusion works properly. "#include" it in default
calendar file.
* calendar.1: describe new file calendar.hindu.
* Reinstated calendar.c.rej and pathnames.h.rej so that I can check
properly before the next release what needs to be done with them.

else some archs will have a problem.

debhelper (1.2.16) unstable; urgency=low
* dh_installchangelogs: now detects html changelogs and installs them as
changelog.html.gz, to comply with latest policy (which I disagree with
BTW).
* manpages: updated policy version numbers.
* dh_installdocs: behavior change: all docs are now installed mode 644.
I have looked and it doesn't seem this will actually affect any packages
in debian. This is useful only if you want to use dh_installdocs and not
dh_fixperms, and that's the only time this behavior change will have any
effect, either. (#30118)
debhelper - helper programs for debian/rules
debhelper 1.2.16 -> 1.2.17 into dists/potato/main/binary-all/devel
debhelper (1.2.17) unstable; urgency=low
* dh_makeshlibs: relaxed regexp to find library name and number a little so
it will work on libraries with a major but no minor version in their
filename (examples of such: libtcl8.0.so.1, libBLT-unoff.so.1)
* dh_movefiles: added --sourcedir option to make it move files out of
some directory besides debian/tmp (#30221)
debian-keyring - PGP and GNUPG keys of Debian Developers
debian-keyring 1998.11.21 -> 1998.11.28 into dists/potato/contrib/binary-all/misc

paragraph, rather than using is as a container element (which is what
it is, really).
