Sure, the project is still active, but everyone involved tends to be busy,
so active progress is sporadic. If you want to help out, you can help
debug the new 2.4.17 kernel in CVS. Follow the instructions in the FAQ
(which I believe are still relevant) to get a copy of the source, and
build yourself a kernel. (Of course, you'll also want a cross compiler
and another Linux box on which to do this).
There aren't any prebuilt images of 2.4.17 available yet because it
doesn't boot correctly. I built one which hangs after an IP routing
message of some sort (known problem, I think) on my 840AV. I've seen
problems with ADB before, so I tried compiling without it. This resulted
in a kernel panic that I couldn't examine without a keyboard to scroll up.
I'm going to have to set up some sort of serial link before I can test
further.
But if you want to help, the best way is to test 2.4.17. If you just want
to use Linux, 2.2.20 should work well on nearly all machines.
